- Phillipsburg Fresh Stop Market is a marketplace open to the public three days a week, the market will offer a vibrant selection of fresh, locally grown produce straight from our farmers. You’ll also find dairy items like milk and cheese, fresh breads, locally sourced meats, and essential shelf-stable grocery items.
- Our convenient and affordable sliding-scale farm share program is for those passionate about eating well and supporting local agriculture. Whether you’re a family on a budget, a local business interested in employee shares, or someone excited about local organic produce, this program is for you!

What’s A Farm Share?
A farm share is your personal portion of the local harvest!
Here’s how it works:
- You subscribe to receive a bi-weekly bundle of 6-8 seasonal vegetables (and sometimes fruits) from nearby farms in Northwest New Jersey. Expect items like carrots, beets, onions, and cucumbers – plus easy recipes to help you use them!
- The three farmers harvest fresh produce and work together to provide a wonderful assortment for each share that unfolds during the season.
- The produce is delivered to Phillipsburg Fresh Stop Market (403 S Main Street, Phillipsburg).
- You pick up your share every other Thursday evening between 4 pm and 6 pm at the Phillipsburg Fresh Stop Market, meet fellow shareholders, and enjoy the season’s best!
This program is offered in partnership with Cabbage Throw Farm, Two Barn Farm, and Old Village Farm-local growers committed to food justice and community health.

Affordable for All: How Pricing Works?
We use a sliding-scale pricing model, so everyone can participate. Share levels include:
Financial Resources Of The Household | Cost Per Share (Bi-Weekly) |
Qualifies for SNAP/EBT (Pays with SNAP/EBT) | → $8 |
Limited Resources (Pays with credit or debit card) | → $15 |
Higher-Income (Pays with credit or debit card) | → $27 |
Food Justice Share (Pays with card; this share supports other families in the program) | → $42 |
No matter what you pay, everyone receives the same high-quality share, because everyone deserves nutritious food.
We’re also exploring employer sponsorships, where businesses contribute to shares so employees pay just a small portion.
You’ll be able to sign up and manage your share right from the New Roots Fresh Stop Market mobile app – including income self-assessments, recipe ideas, and produce previews.
Meet the Farmers

Cabbage Throw Farm
Founded in 2018 in partnership with Comeback Farm, Cabbage Throw Farm is a 5 acre farm located in NJ’s fertile Musconetcong River Valley. The farm has expanded to an additional rental property in Asbury where they operate an on-farm farm store. Proprietors Dean and Emily are young farmers who carry a strong environmental ethic and practice shallow tillage in order to preserve the soil’s natural structure and inherent fertility. Cabbage Throw is certified organic and grows over 50 varieties of vegetables, selling at local farmers markets.

Two Barn Farm
We’re a four-season, certified organic vegetable farm dedicated to growing high-quality, nutrient-dense produce all year long. From vibrant tomatoes in the summer to hearty root vegetables in the winter, we offer a diverse selection of fresh, organic produce each season. Our growing practices focus on sustainability, soil health, and supporting our greater community.

Old Village Farm
In 2014 when we started Old Village Farm, a 30-acre historic property on the Delaware River, our mission was to figure out how to supply our community and the tristate with the most unique mix of hand-crafted products. We believe in organic and sustainable practices, and are currently in the middle of getting our USDA Organic Certification. When we are not at the farm, you can find us at Farmers Markets in Westfield, West Orange, Newark, and Bedminster.
